Weekend Getaway to Asheville, NC
If you are looking for a quick weekend getaway then check out Asheville, NC! This mountain town clocks in at 2 hours from Charlotte with an easy drive up Hwy 321 & Interstate 40.
WHERE TO STAY
Our pick is Biltmore Village Inn; this beautiful Queen Anne victorian is full of character and charm without lacking in amenities! They will spoil you with the breakfast selections and donβt be surprised if youβre not hungry by lunchtime! They are that good and that filling.
Other notable mentions:
WHAT TO DO
Biltmore House always ranks on top of the list of things to do while in Asheville. Explore the house and the grounds during your time! You can even ride horses or go skeet shooting!
If you prefer to play golf, then Asheville has some tremendous courses especially the Grove Park Inn!
Speaking of GPI, while this is also a great place to stay, I highly recommend spending some time in the hotel learning about the history of the inn. Grab a drink or a bite to eat at their plethora of restaurants.
WHERE TO THRIFT SHOP
The Goodwill near Biltmore Park is a great spot! The store is large and the selection was impressive.
My next recommendation is the Habitat ReStore near the Biltmore Village! Another massive store with a ton of furniture, cabinets, rugs, and home decor!
We made a pitstop at the Second Chance Thrift Store, and while it was a bit small, the store had a few cute finds.
