Why we do what we do.

 

After shopping at several estate sales in our area, we saw an opportunity that seemed to be overlooked by others, and that was one that focused on the family and the respectful sending off of their lifetime of collections and memories.

Instead of opening the doors and letting customers sift through the home, we are the ones who sort, itemize, and price first. By doing so, we earn our clients trust that their possessions are being inventoried, marketed, and taken care of. This allows them the freedom to focus on the sale of the home and the logistics that surround it.

While we know a little about a lot, we are experts in how to market, price, and sell household items. Everything from collectible books to everyday china, nothing is too great a challenge for us.

We spend hours pouring over new trends in the home design world so we can spot them at our sales. We gather inspiration from around the internet to share with our customers to bring your stuff to life for them. We search through local resale stores and other estate sales to determine the sweet spot pricing that is right for each and every item in your home.

If you think details matter, then you are talking to the right team. We believe it is the little things that add up to the big things for each of our clients.

Founded in 2010 with the intent to make life simpler and easier for clients, we have grown to help hundreds of families navigate the transitions of life with ease and grace.

Why Pure & Simple?

The story behind the name.

As we sat around the dining table in my small one-bedroom apartment, we thought and thought about what to name this ministry. We wanted the name to convey our approach which was to make things simpler for clients. It had to be welcoming and not stuffy or off putting. And it needed to be relatable.

We filled a page full of ideas and crossed them all off. Raymond sat back in his chair and said, “what about Pure & Simple?”

I loved it! It checked all the boxes and it described our intent to the core. Life is busy and frantic at times, especially during a move and a real estate transaction; we saw no need to make the extra step of downsizing anymore complicated.

And thus a name, a business, and a ministry was born.

Raymond has been instrumental in the operation and running of Pure & Simple since day one.

Between helping customers load purchases to always thinking through the logistics of each sale, Raymond is our resident Mr-Figure-It-Out.

Jennifer Burnham Grant

Jennifer began Pure & Simple with the mission to help women live a simpler life by sorting, purging, and learning to release the weight of clutter in their homes and in their lives.

In 2015, Pure & Simple was expanded to include estate sale services rooted in the organizing methodology she had used faithfully for 5 years.

Jennifer & Gwen met while both were shopping at a local estate sale. Jennifer noticed Gwen’s fantastic style along with her eye of the “good stuff”. They struck up a conversation that has blossomed into a wonderful working relationship.

Gwen oversees the marketing and presale portion of each estate sale.

Dana and Jennifer met while at church at Flint Groves Baptist. She mentioned her love for thrifting and hinted that staging and organizing estate sales might be right up her alley.

We are so glad that she did! Dana works with the other estate sale leads to stage and setup each sale from start to finish, and what a job it is!

Jennifer & Kelly met via social media! While advertising our need to hire as the business continues to grow and expand, Kelley expressed an interest! She loves thrifting and the thought of setting up and displaying for an estate sale seemed appealing.

Kelley works with the other estate sale leads on setting up sales from start to finish!

Ariel & Gwen met at Revolution Church and share a great passion for thrifting and curating beautiful finds in their home. Ariel expressed an interest during a recent hiring transition and her artist eye brings a lot to the table!

She works with the estate sale team on setting up and preparing the home for the estate sale.
