5 Things I Did To Get Consistent Sales on Etsy
Many years ago, I opened a store on Etsy only to have it fail miserably. It could have been the type of stuff I was trying to resell but either way it was not a great success.
Until recently, I had decided to resell exclusively on eBay, giving the cold shoulder to other platforms such as Poshmark & Etsy. That is until 1) I had an organizing client who wanted to resell on Poshmark and 2) an estate sale customer shared her success story with Etsy.
I decided to give them both a try, but today we are just going to talk about Etsy. Here are 5 things I did to get consistent sales on Etsy.
One: Complete my store
I created a graphic for our store that communicated to buyers who we were and what we sold.
I uploaded policies such as turnaround times and how I handle returns.
I even added profiles for myself and Raymond as the buyers and owners of the store.
Two: Send thank you postcards
When customers leave feedback on your page (especially 5 stars), Etsy takes note and shows your items to more customers. Instead of buying some cheap Thank You cards and handwriting notes for each sale, I decided to design and print a few options through Canva.
I even made templates for you as well! Simple and easy to edit!
Three: Post new items consistently
Everytime I have a dry spell in orders, I realize I also have a corresponding dry spell in listings.
The more you list, the more sales you make. Itβs just how Etsy prefers it.
Four: Ship quickly & promptly
My ideal turnaround is less than 24 hours. While not always the case, I do strive to have orders packed and shipped quickly. This will need adjusting once our store grows and we have more than a few orders a week.
Five: Participate in Etsy Offsite Ads program
It is built into your store, but I highly recommend participating in their offsite ad program. Click here to read more about it and why I think it is worth it.
