Chairish’s Updated Commission Structure

As a reseller, you can choose to resell in person or online (or both).

If you choose to resell online, then there are several platforms available.

  • eBay

  • Etsy

  • Poshmark

  • Chairish

  • 1stDibs

  • Mercari

  • Facebook Marketplace

  • OfferUp

  • ….and I am sure I am missing a few!

As a company, we crosslist across 4 platforms: eBay, Etsy, Poshmark, & Chairish.

We recently added Chairish to our cross listing efforts, and while we have not cracked the code on Chairish, I do appreciate their audience reach. Last week they announced a change in their commissions for resellers.

They offer monthly/yearly memberships or just a professional account. Most companies are moving to a membership pricing structure, so for those that don’t want to pay monthly/yearly, then the commission just went up from 23% to 30%.

How does this effect you as a reseller?

I anticipate you will see prices increase as resellers are trying to cover the loss of margin.

As a reseller, it is important to know the commission of each platform so you can decide which ones work best for you and your needs. While I am not thrilled about the commission hike, I do understand they reach an audience that eBay and Etsy doesn’t attract.
