Organizing Project: Laundry Room

Organizing is at the core of who we are at Pure & Simple. It is what the company was founded on afterall.

If you’ve been to one of our estate sales, then you will know how much we value an organized experience for our customers.

Over the holiday break, I (Jennifer) was able to check off a personal project. Organizing our laundry / utility room.

It has been bugging me for a year! I had most of the necessary supplies to turn it into an organized and functional space but I lacked the time to do it.

BEFORE

At the root of the problem, we were not using the space to its full potential. It is a small room so floor space is a premium. The random assortment of wall shelves were not helpful and they added to the visual clutter of the space.

Let’s fast forward to phase one - where we removed the wall shelves and tidied up.

The room instantly felt bigger with the shelves removed. It took a few more weeks before we were able to finally install the white shelves and the pegboard.

AFTER

The shelves provide ample storage so we were able to remove one of the freestanding shelves.

The pegwall allowed us to hang many things that we use often without compromising floor space.

The only thing that would have made it even better was to have it painted white! :)
