Is my Pyrex worth anything?

There has been some recent “news” circulating that the Cornflower Blue pattern by Corning is now worth “a lot of money”. So I decided to do some investigating to see if you have some treasures hiding in your cupboards. Let’s go to the eBay

1st: Pyrex

3 things that increase the value of your Pyrex:

  1. Color & pattern

  2. Is it a complete set

  3. Was it a rare promo item

Example: Pyrex made a lot of refrigerator dishes and mixing bowls. What they did not make a lot of were chip and dip sets. You can see that reflected in the price.

2nd: Corning

A few minutes searching the sold listings on eBay will bring about the conclusion that the Corning is worth about the same thing it was last year ($10 - $20 each).

I once heard it put this way “A rare item will never be common, and a common item will never be rare.”

Rarity always increases value and worth.
