How I Would Use a Cake Stand & Hymnals
Many times I will browse an estate sale or thrift store looking at everyday items and pass them up because “I don’t need it” or can’t envision what I would do with it. Usually these fun thrift trips are followed up with an afternoon of scrolling Pinterest or Instagram and finding myself very motivated to reuse everyday items in clever ways.
This, of course, makes me wish I had scrolled before thrift shopping so my inspiration could be paired with items. ;)
So how would I use two everyday items that you may see relatively often at estate sales or thrift stores?
Cake Stands
One obvious use for a cake stand is for cake. They make great displays for muffins, cupcakes, and doughnuts as well.
Another option is to use by the sink for your hand soap, dish detergent, and sponge. Cake stands make great display stands for so many different items like plants, perfume, candles, and the list go on!
Hymnal Books
I love beautiful old books but I most especiallly love hymnal books. These classic worship songs are almost a thing of the past and decorating my home with them gives me so much joy!
Several crafty ways to reuse and decorate with old books are to create angels, or christmas trees, or paper garlands, or even just roll them up and display under a glass cloche or on your christmas tree.
Who’s ready to go thrifting? :)
