Bernhardt Makeover
One of the first things that sold from our estate sale in Tryon, NC was this fantastic Bernhardt display cabinet. The compact size made it attractive, but the condition was less than ideal.
It had been in storage for roughly 9 years and the wood showed it. One of the glass panels was broken and several of the decorative overlays were missing on the bottom.
The interest was high on our Facebook Marketplace listing but many were trying to bargain for a better price.
One lady decided it was perfect for her home and she drove up with her husband to retrieve.
As the men were loading the cabinet in their truck, I inquired about her plans for the cabinet. She stated it was going to be painted a lovely shade of green and live in their dining room.
One day later, she was complete with said project and had pictures to prove it! I couldnβt believe it was already done, but the afters really left me speechless.
She added contact paper to the interior of the cabinet and her husband had a new piece of glass cut for the door. She decided to remove all the decorative overlay, knowing it would be near impossible to find replacements.
