How to Restore a Vintage Golf Bag
One of Raymond’s favorite hobbies is thrifting vintage golf bags and restoring them to their previous glory!
At a recent estate sale, we saved this vintage NC State Golf Bag from the trash pile. Better days were seen by this bag but he was confident that he could restore it back to it’s original glory.
STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO RESTORING VINTAGE GOLF BAGS
Remove excess debris
We prefer to use a broom to remove dust and dirt.
Wash with warm soapy water. Towel dry.
If the bag is leather, then use saddle soap and a leather brush.
Remove scuffs to vinyl with Magic Eraser
Test an area before using the Magic Eraser on the entire bag as it will remove the finish
Use Bar Keepers Friend or Brasso on metal zippers
Use WD-40 to lubricate zipper pockets (assuming they still zip)
Vacuum interior of bag to remove additional debris and dirt
Now to keep your eyes peeled for vintage golf bags at your local thrift store!
