How to make $1,500 a month reselling online

For most anyone, an extra $1,500 a month would be greatly appreciated. While you can certainly make more than $1,500 a month using a version of this strategy, I want to teach you how to consistently make $1,500 a month reselling online.

Step No. 1: List 12 items a week

Or roughly 48 items a month. The more you list, the more you sell. Most platforms have internal algorithms that are inclined to share stores that are active and listing.

The reason I break my listings down by week is that I can more easily stay on top of 12 items weekly. Anything more than that and I’m overwhelmed. This is a side business for us and not our full-time focus. If you are looking to make more and have more time, then by all means double or even triple that number!

Step No. 2: Resell products that will gross 1000% profit

The greater the margin, the greater the amount I make. I’ve gotten very particular about what I will and will not buy for our online stores over the years. Rarely do I make an exception to our 1000% gross profit margin rule.

When I do it would be for something that I know will sell and will sell quickly. No one likes to sit on inventory too long. ;)

Step No. 3: Resell on multiple platforms

I highly recommend listing your items in more than one place. The more eyes on your items, the more likely you are to sell it.

While we are looking into transitioning our eBay account to a full time store, we do list on eBay roughly once a month.

We also sell on Etsy, Poshmark, and Chairish.

Step No. 4: Build a solid feedback score by utilizing custom Thank You cards

Years ago I used to handwrite a thank you card for each order. While the message was simple, it was a bit cumbersome to stay on top of. I switched to custom Thank You postcards that I print in bulk and add to each order before it goes out the door. As the feedback rolls in, the platform will show our store to more viewers as we offer reliable service time and time again.
