DIY Terracotta Pumpkin

It’s likely that you have seen the Pottery Barn pumpkins floating around the internet. While I appreciate the look of them, the price is a bit out of my range for such a seasonal item.

After watching others transform similar jack-o-lanterns into the terracotta look, I decided to give it a try.

The key is to make the pumpkin less orange. I used Fusion Mineral Paint in Raw Silk because I had it on hand. TIP: water down your paint for a white wash look.

After the paint dries, then you want to spray it with sealer. TIP: don’t use this waterseal as it was not tacky enough

You are looking for something with some stickiness to it. Once you spray it, immediately sprinkle with flour. Cheap flour will work just fine.

Then rub it in.

Gently wipe off the excess flour with a dry towel.

Add fairy lights for a cute glow in the evening!

While not the perfect match, this white washed terracotta pumpkin is a good dupe for the Pottery Barn options!
