Back-To-School Snack Idea using Nutella

It is officially back-to-school week here in NC! In honor of the small kids and the big kids returning to school, we’ve got an amazing snack that you could whip up in 20 minutes!

You will need:

  • puff pastry sheets (thawed)

  • bananas

  • nutella

  • fruit (optional)

It is so simple and easy! Let’s get to cooking!

Let the puff pastry come to room temperature. I recommend rolling it out to thin the sheet slightly. Then use a pizza cutter to create 1.5” strips.

Peel your bananas and turn them into little boats. TIP: a melon baller would make light work of this!

I used a small measuring spoon to create the boat indentation.

Be sure to save the banana that you are scooping out for smoothies!

Pipe in the nutella with a piping bag. I used a small knife but a piping bag would have been much easier!

ANOTHER TIP: Be sure the Nutella is also at room temperature. Raymond had put ours in the refrigerator so it was much harder to smooth out!

If you want to add some chopped strawberries or raspberries, then do so before wrapping.

Take one of your strips and wrap it around the banana. Then place on a cookie sheet or pizza stone.

Bake at 350* for 14-16 mins until the pastry is golden brown.

They turned out so well! If you want, dust with some powdered sugar!

I recommend serving right away but they would be delicious cold as well!

Happy Back-To-School week!!
