What to Resell on What Platforms

I fully believe in the power of cross posting items across multiple platforms when reselling. However, some selling platforms perform better than others when it comes to certain items.

eBay

Great for most anything.

eBay reaches a very wide audience and can be great for rare items that you want to auction rather than list as a set price.

eBay is also great for auto parts and what I call โ€œmanlyโ€ collectibles.

Etsy

Great for vintage.

Etsy is a great way to build a following and community that is harder to do on eBay. If you really want to niche down and sell a certain category of items, then I recommend Etsy as the place to create your store to find your customers.

Poshmark

Great for clothes, shoes, accessories, and home.

Weโ€™ve had great luck with reselling home items on Poshmark which surprised me. It is also a site that allows customers to make offers for items. Sometimes this helps us make more sales, and other times it is just plain annoying.

Facebook Marketplace

Great for furniture and items that you want to clear out of your house quickly.

I recommend using Marketplace as an online yard sale. I would price it depending on how fast you want to get rid of it. :)

Chairish

Great for high end vintage furniture and home.

Keep in mind that they do approve each listing, so just because you list it doesnโ€™t mean it will be approved. It appears to work best for high end/high quality furniture and harder to find vintage home items.

1stDibs

Similar to Chairish but the approval process is more curated. This is a reselling platform that we do not use (yet).
