Thrift Store Finds + What I Bought To Resell
When we are in the mix of setting up estate sales, I rarely go to the thrift stores. After you have spent 25 hours sorting, separating, donating, and deciding what to do with an entire house full of things, the absolute last thing you want to do is go shopping and digging through more stuff.
I’ll speak for myself that is. ;)
As I’ve made a dent in our backlog of inventory to sell during our project lull, I debated stopping by the thrift store this weekend to see what I might find. A few details: I went on a Sunday afternoon, it was fairly crowded, and they were not bringing out new inventory while I was shopping.
Now that I’ve tee’d it up, lets see what I found.
Clothes
I am into the flutter sleeves these days and spotted several cute options! Most where Target shirts but the green and navy blue top was a J.Crew find. As an aside, I thought about buying the J.Crew shirt but Goodwill’s policy on “no dressing rooms” really discourages me from buying clothes from them.
Ahem Goodwill. ;))))
Home Goods
I was really hoping to score some cute plates or other serving pieces but found those categories were lacking. However, the watermelon platter is perfect for summer and the conch shell bowls would be darling on a board!
The covered butter dish was fantastic! I considered reselling it but the margin wasn’t there. Lastly, I am ALWAYS looking for substantial baskets. This one was perfect to organize or to gift to a friend (just fill with her favorite treats).
What I Bought to Resell
I felt the home goods were picked over and there was an abundance of new Target items. While I appreciate the Target inventory, it did crowd out the inventory and take up wayyyy too much room on the shelves.
I decided to browse the furniture one last time before I left, and spotted these fantastic blue & white chinoiserie ceramic dogs. The margin was there so I decided to bring them home with me! Coming to an Etsy shop near you. ;))))
What have you scored as of late from the thrift stores?
