The Power of Paint

Paint is full of power to transform a piece of furniture (or a room) from drab to fab. I also love that it is cost effective and foolproof.

I purchased this mid-century modern bookcase from a local thrift store; while I prefer the original finish on most mid-century pieces, this particular item showed a lot of wear.

I searched through my small collection of paints and settled on β€œGraphite” by Annie Sloan. Chalk paint and mineral paint both self-level (no brush strokes), require zero prep work, and are easy to use!

There was a small damage spot to the back of the bookshelf and I decided to sand it down. Doing so allowed the wear to disappear when painted. Win win!

What do you think of the finished product? Would you have chosen a different color?

What is your favorite paint line to use when DIYing and rehabbing furniture?
