How to Polish Silver Plate

I’ve passed on many a silver plate item because of the tarnish and the condition. In the past few weeks, we’ve had an abundance of silverplate for sale at our estate sales only to watch customers pass on them as well.

After doing some research, I ordered Wright’s Silver Cream on Amazon and decided to try it out.

Following the instructions, I coated the ice bucket with the cream then rinsed with warm water.

After towel drying, I buffed the ice bucket with a microfiber cloth. I could not believe the difference! If the tarnish is really dark, then it may take a few applications to get your piece all shiny again!

Total polish time: 5 minutes

Another silver cream is Peek. I haven’t personally tried it but heard it works well!
